"Invested with a quiet grace and emotional power" --Bloomington Herald-Times
I'm a writer and musician from Indianapolis, Indiana. I have worked as a dishwasher, a barista, an IT guy and a marketing dude. Katy Perry once accused me of being a hipster.
My first full-length LP, One Day in May, was made at San Francisco's Tiny Telephone on two marathon weekends separated by a year. It is an evocative scrapbook of endings, beginnings, fortunes, failures, courage and humility. Check it out here!
I also play bass in the Bay Area-based cosmic-Americana band, Cazadero. I was part of their first three albums beginning in 2012.. It's hard for me to pick a favorite.
In 2002, my first year in San Francisco, I worked with Badman Recording Co. ace, Dylan Magierek, at Tim Mooney's Closer Studios. From these sessions came the "Hey Sue" b/w "Bloody Breathitt" 7". I'm still very proud of that one. Listen here.
Most recently I released 4 on 10, a gatefold 10" record featuring Jason Slota (Thao & the Getdown Staydown) on drums, Jamie Riotto (John Vanderslice) on bass and Nate Cavalieri (The Sights, Saturday Looks Good To Me) on keyboards. Click here to listen.
I currently live in Brooklyn and am chipping away on a novel about college radio DJs in the 1990s.
